Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker to support the rehabilitation, stability, and well-being of individuals in our care. This role is essential to delivering evidence-based services, addressing behavioral and emotional needs, and promoting successful reentry through structured treatment planning and supportive interventions.

Requirements

  • Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW)
  • A master's degree in social work.
  • NOTE: Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana; Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advanced clinical and technical expertise in assessing psychosocial functioning and delivering specialized treatment interventions for individuals experiencing significant behavioral disorders, social dysfunction, or acute risk of harm to self or others.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors complex individualized treatment plans that address identified needs, behavioral and emotional responses, and family or environmental factors impacting the individual’s progress and stability.
  • Serves as the social work authority on a multidisciplinary team, contributing clinical insight and treatment recommendations for specialized medical, mental health, or high-risk populations within the correctional environment.
  • Offers expert testimony and advocacy on behalf of clients during court proceedings, ensuring accurate representation of clinical findings, treatment needs, and psychosocial considerations.
  • Facilitates therapeutic group sessions designed to promote emotional regulation, skill-building, education, and problem-solving for assigned populations, using evidence-based practices to support rehabilitation and positive behavioral change.
