About The Position

The Oncology Social Worker (OSW) at Spencer Cancer Center provides psychosocial services to patients, families, and caregivers facing the impact of a cancer diagnosis and treatment throughout all phases of the cancer continuum. The role is part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and uses a strengths perspective to maximize optimal patient functioning, help patients navigate health care resources, reduce distress, and improve survivorship. The OSW is knowledgeable about the psychosocial, emotional, and financial implications of cancer and about resources that can improve cancer care.

Requirements

• Master of Social Work (MSW).
• Two years of experience in a clinical social service setting.
• Current license or eligibility for licensure as an MSW.
• BLS certification within 90 days of date of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with oncology patients and families.
• Board of Oncology Social Work Certification (OSW-C).
