About The Position
Under the Director of Social Work, the Social Worker incorporates social work functions and skills into the inpatient hospital setting. Medical Social Workers serve as integral members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams, providing support to individuals facing health-related challenges. They help bridge the gap between medical professionals and patients, addressing emotional, social, and practical needs alongside medical treatment. This per diem position may be associated with UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY, and UHS Binghamton General Hospital in Binghamton, NY. Work is assigned on an as-needed, agreed-upon basis, with hours assigned by the manager. Compensation is $30.58–$45.86 per hour, depending on experience. The position is not eligible for benefits.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work.
- New York State Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or limited permit. Employees hired with a limited permit must obtain their full license within one year after obtaining the permit.
