About The Position
Under the Director of Social Work, the Social Worker incorporates social work functions and skills into the inpatient hospital setting. Medical Social Workers are integral members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams, supporting individuals facing health-related challenges. They help bridge medical professionals and patients by addressing emotional, social, and practical needs alongside medical treatment. This is a per diem position at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Social Services. Work is scheduled on an as-needed, agreed-upon basis, with hours assigned by the manager. Compensation is $30.58–$45.86 per hour, depending on experience. The position is not eligible for benefits.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work.
- NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or LMSW Limited Permit. Those hired with a limited permit must obtain their full license within one year after obtaining the permit.
Nice To Haves
- Three years of postgraduate experience.
