Social Worker, Housing Specialist
About The Position
Concord Counseling is seeking a Social Worker, Housing Specialist (Service Coordinator) to assist individuals with mental health and/or drug/alcohol issues who have experienced homelessness and now live in supportive housing. This role involves engaging tenants in activities and education, supporting their recovery process, building a community of neighbors, introducing them to sober activities, assisting with identifying and addressing barriers to success, developing coping skills for independent living and community integration, and providing limited case management services.
Requirements
- Minimum Associates Degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and computer literacy are essential.
Nice To Haves
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Engage tenants with activities and education both within the housing program and the outside community.
- Support the recovery process for each assigned tenant.
- Build a community of neighbors and introduce folks to fun/sober activities around the city.
- Assist tenants with identifying and addressing barriers to success and to develop coping skills to live independently and as part of a community.
- Provide limited case management services.
