About The Position

This position is responsible for the administration, clinical and professional direction of the Social Work Department which includes 32 positions (Clinical Social Workers and Clinical Social Work Supervisors). Position is responsible for program development, supervisory assignment of staff and on-going planning for patient care delivery, integrative family involvement, discharge planning and coordination of service with community-based service agencies representing 38 counties of eastern North Carolina. The Social Work Program Director also has responsibility for development of policies and procedures for the Social Work Department; and assures the department remains compliant with the hospital's regulatory and accreditation requirements for active patient treatment. This is an exempt managerial position.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of social work experience, including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or Master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution, and five years of social work experience, including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
