About The Position

This role is part of so.da, Corus Entertainment’s award-winning social digital agency, supporting many of Canada’s leading brands with innovative social strategy and content. Reporting to the Social Editorial Lead, the Social Strategist will develop best-in-class, data-driven social media strategies and campaigns for our clients. You’ll collaborate closely with the Account Manager, fellow Strategists, Analysts, Producers, and Community Managers to craft compelling content for deployment across clients’ owned and operated social channels. Equal parts creative and strategic, the ideal candidate is a social-first thinker with a passion for storytelling, data, and digital culture. You’re collaborative, trend-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing large social audiences and driving performance.
  • Proven expertise in data-driven social strategy and execution.
  • Deep understanding of platform algorithms, analytics, and social listening tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Thought leadership and the ability to rally stakeholders around ideas from concept to execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of established and emerging platforms and how they drive brand and business impact.
  • Experience in content creation, optimization, and adaptation in a fast-moving industry.
  • Ability to manage community engagement and respond with agility and care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies that meet client KPIs and foster highly engaged communities.
  • Oversee content calendar planning, including writing and editing copy optimized for social-first engagement.
  • Lead brainstorms, creative development, and client presentations; collaborate with production teams on content concepts.
  • Provide creative direction and review social assets, working closely with the Social Producer to ensure quality and brand alignment.
  • Analyze performance metrics and deliver actionable insights to inform content creation and optimization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, sharing best practices, platform updates, and training.
  • Monitor online conversations, trends, and news to identify timely content opportunities.
  • Build brand communities, spark fandom, and drive meaningful engagement.
  • Partner with the team on publishing and engagement tactics, providing hands-on support as needed.
  • Support social monitoring and issue management, offering proactive guidance and clear direction to clients.
