This is a part time position in Shenandoah, Ia. The hours are Monday- Tuesday 4pm-11pm, and every other weekend 9am-11pm. The Supported Community Living Specialist (SCLS) is directly responsible to the Team Leader to which they are assigned and the Director of Residential Services. This is a part-time/full-time, Para-professional level position. The SCLS will teach, train, and assist individuals in developing the skills necessary to be as independent as possible when performing activities of daily living. Essential functions include providing quality care, transporting individuals, training in daily living skills, maintaining housekeeping standards, working with individuals who have behavioral problems (including verbal and physical aggression), providing a supportive and therapeutic atmosphere, administering medication (after training), exercising sound judgment, working according to assigned schedule, completing documentation, working independently to ensure welfare and safety, and complying with HIPAA. Employees are on a need-to-know basis regarding Protected Health Information (PHI) and are assigned a security clearance level (Level Two for SCLS).
