About The Position

NewsNation is seeking a social media producer who is passionate about news and storytelling for audiences in the rapidly evolving world of digital media. The role involves producing social content, managing NewsNation’s YouTube and other social channels, collaborating with newsroom colleagues, using analytics to improve content, and applying AI and emerging technologies to create content and engage audiences. The position is in-office at the Chicago location. Early morning, late night, and/or weekend shifts may be required.

Requirements

Experience creating social content ranging from graphics to video for large brands or media outlets.
Strong writing skills and ability to maintain a consistent brand voice.
Good editorial judgment in content selection and adaptation based on the platform.
Ability to quickly edit video and photos in high-pressure situations.
Knowledge of data and analytics and demonstrated ability to use that data to make decisions.
Good communicator who can work collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

Expertise with YouTube, including thumbnail and title best practices.
Experience using Adobe Suite, including Premiere and Photoshop.
Journalism or news background.
Experience producing for or directing on-camera talent.

Responsibilities

Pitch, develop, and produce social media content.
Manage NewsNation’s YouTube channel and social channels, reaching millions of followers.
Develop multimedia storytelling in collaboration with editors, writers, and reporters.
Use analytics to evaluate content performance and suggest improvements to tactics.
Use AI and emerging technologies to produce content and engage with audiences.
Keep up to date on the latest trends and emerging stories to share with the larger team.
Train staff members on social media best practices, use of social tools, and other tactics.
