Job Summary: Pumpkin is seeking a Social Media Manager who will own the strategy, content creation, execution, and analytics for all social media channels. This role is responsible for driving brand awareness, strengthening pet-parent engagement, and supporting growth initiatives across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn. You’ll collaborate with marketing, creative, and product teams to highlight our mission: helping pet parents access top-quality veterinary care through reliable, compassionate wellness and insurance coverage.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing or collaborating on social media for a consumer brand; pet, veterinary or insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success growing social accounts and creating engaging short-form video content.
  • Strong copywriting skills with an understanding of tone, storytelling, and brand voice. You can adapt your voice to fit the brand
  • Proficiency with social management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Later, Hootsuite) and analytics platforms and ability to clearly communicate relevant data
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut).

  • Passion for pets - you don't have to have one of your own, but you should really like them
  • Understanding of the human wellness and lifestyle space is a plus
  • An eye for trends beyond the pet, veterinary and insurance spaces, we are looking to engage beyond our obvious scope

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy designed to build a community of dedicated parents.
  • Identify platform-specific opportunities to grow reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Maintain an evolving social media content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns, partnerships, and product launches.
  • Produce high-quality content, including short-form videos, graphics, educational posts, and UGC highlights.
  • Write engaging captions that match brand voice and inspire pet-parent engagement.
  • Coordinate with designers, videographers, and influencers to bring creative ideas to life.
  • Collaborate with influencers, veterinarians, and brand partners to amplify reach.
  • Support paid social campaigns by supplying creative assets and coordinating messaging.
  • Assist with cross-channel marketing initiatives (email, blog, events, PR, etc).
