Social Media Manager

Charlotte Center City PartnersCharlotte, NC
Hybrid

About The Position

Charlotte Center City Partners is seeking a creative, strategic, and collaborative Social Media Manager to lead the social media presence for prominent Charlotte brands and experiences like Uptown and South End. This role involves a blend of on-site content capture and analysis, requiring the individual to explore the city, interview local business owners, capture content at events, collaborate with creators, manage paid campaigns, edit video content, and analyze performance to refine strategy. The ideal candidate is a storyteller, strategist, planner, and community builder who enjoys experimenting with new ideas, embraces change, and understands the power of social media for discovery. While teamwork is valued, self-starters who take initiative are also sought. This is not an entry-level position; candidates should possess the experience to immediately contribute to advanced social storytelling. The primary channels are Instagram and Facebook, with a presence on TikTok, LinkedIn, and Thread, and exploration into YouTube. The organization encourages the use of new tools, including AI, to enhance creativity and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately 3 to 7 years of professional experience managing social media for a brand, agency, destination, nonprofit, media organization, or similar organization.
  • Demonstrated experience creating engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and, to a lesser extent, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Experience managing paid social advertising campaigns, particularly on Meta.
  • Experience using social media management and analytics platforms.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Passionate about social media and how it continues to evolve.
  • A creative thinker who consistently generates fresh ideas and enjoys experimenting.
  • An exceptional storyteller with strong visual instincts and copywriting skills.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple brands, campaigns, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Equally comfortable planning weeks ahead and pivoting quickly when opportunities arise.
  • A collaborative teammate who enjoys working across departments and building relationships throughout the community.
  • Comfortable representing the organization in the community and, when appropriate, appearing on camera.
  • Analytical enough to understand the data and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and excited to take ownership of their work.
  • Curious about emerging technologies, including AI, and thoughtful about using them to improve workflows, productivity, and analysis while maintaining originality.
