About The Position

Baselayer is seeking its first dedicated Social Media Manager to own the company's social media presence, from brand voice to scheduling and community engagement. This role involves close collaboration with the CEO, marketing, and go-to-market teams to ensure all content aligns with Baselayer's identity and objectives. The position offers significant ownership and visibility, including managing the CEO's LinkedIn and Twitter/X presence to drive awareness and conversation within the fintech and lending sectors.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years managing B2B or fintech social media accounts professionally.
  • Proven track record growing and engaging audiences on LinkedIn and Twitter/X.
  • Exceptional writing skills; ability to write like a human, not a bot.
  • Experience ghostwriting for executives and capturing distinct personal voices.
  • Self-directed and organized; able to ship great work without constant supervision.
  • Skilled at taking and implementing feedback.
  • Ability to soft manage content contributors and stakeholders to ensure a reliable content pipeline execution.

  • Experience collaborating and ideating with senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of the fintech, compliance, or developer tools ecosystem.
  • Basic design skills (Figma, Canva) for creating visual assets.
  • Experience building or scaling a brand's social presence from an early stage.
  • Network within fintech, compliance, or B2B SaaS Twitter/LinkedIn communities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all Baselayer social media accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and emerging platforms).
  • Build and maintain a content calendar with a consistent posting cadence.
  • Write, design (with support), schedule, and publish posts across all channels, ensuring brand consistency in tone, visuals, and messaging.
  • Partner with the CEO and marketing leadership to align on content priorities, narratives, and platform strategy.
  • Conduct ideation sessions to identify themes, campaigns, and angles that support business goals.
  • Act as a liaison between the CEO's perspective and the marketing team's strategy.
  • Generate fresh content ideas based on product, industry, and customers.
  • Translate technical risk management topics into engaging and accessible content.
  • Identify trends and conversations in the fintech/B2B SaaS space.
  • Develop content series, campaigns, and recurring formats to build audience and scale output.
  • Create simple graphics using Figma or Canva, and collaborate with content partners for written and multimedia content.
  • Execute social media components of broader marketing campaigns.
  • Serve as the editorial lead for all social content, ensuring quality, accuracy, and tone.
  • Collaborate with the CEO on drafts, incorporating his feedback and voice.
  • Review and test content against campaign goals and messaging frameworks with marketing leadership.
  • Build and maintain a lightweight review and approval process for content.
  • Provide editorial guidance to team members contributing posts.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, mentions, and DMs across platforms.
  • Proactively engage with industry conversations, partner content, and relevant accounts.
  • Build relationships with fintech communities, creators, journalists, and partners.
  • Flag high-value interactions for leadership.
  • Coordinate mandatory team posts for the weekly calendar, product launches, announcements, and milestones.
  • Manage the system for collecting posts from team members and ensuring timely publication.
  • Brief contributors to ensure posts are authentic and aligned with their personal voice.
  • Serve as the primary operator of the CEO's LinkedIn and Twitter/X accounts.
  • Collaborate directly with the CEO to develop his social strategy and point of view.
  • Draft, edit, and schedule posts on behalf of the CEO, capturing his voice accurately.
  • Manage replies, threads, and high-signal engagement from the CEO's accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for thought leadership, media commentary, and viral participation.
  • Track performance and iterate on strategies for the CEO's accounts.
