About The Position

New School American Cheese is seeking a Social Media Manager and Content Creator to bring their chef-driven, craveable brand to life across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels like YouTube shorts and Reddit. This is a hands-on creative role for someone who understands internet culture, food storytelling, and how to make B2C/B2B food brands feel exciting and relevant. The role involves creating and editing short-form content, writing on-brand copy, and helping build a consistent creative cadence for the team.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years experience in social media, content creation and marketing
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and modern food/hospitality culture
  • Excellent video editing skills (i.e. CapCut)
  • Strong eye for photography, composition, pacing, and internet-native storytelling
  • Comfortable working independently and moving quickly
  • Strong copywriting instincts and understanding of tone/voice

Nice To Haves

  • Professional photography experience preferred
  • Experience with food, beverage, hospitality, lifestyle, or CPG brands is highly preferred
  • Bonus if you’ve worked with chef-driven brands or restaurant accounts

Responsibilities

  • Capture and edit short-form video and photo content from restaurant visits, chef collaborations, events, trade shows, kitchens, and product shoots for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and stories
  • Create static graphics, carousels, memes, motion assets, and lightweight design work
  • Organize and repurpose existing photo/video assets into social-first content
  • Assist in developing monthly social media calendars and content planning
  • Brainstorm content series, recurring formats, and storytelling opportunities
  • Identify trends, cultural moments, and relevant conversations within food, chef, and hospitality spaces
  • Collaborate on campaign rollouts, product launches, partnerships, and events
  • Write captions and social copy aligned with New School’s voice and positioning
  • Help evolve the brand voice across social platforms
  • Translate product functionality and chef credibility into engaging, entertaining content
  • Support storytelling around operators, kitchens, partnerships, events, and new product launches
  • Assist with community engagement and social listening
  • Identify creators, chefs, restaurants, and collaborators for partnerships
  • Surface UGC opportunities and content worth resharing
  • Support reporting on performance, learnings, and content insights
