About The Position

VIA is seeking a Social Media Lead to translate its mission, product capabilities, and customer wins into compelling social media content. This role will elevate the brand voice and build an engaged global community across major platforms. It is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role responsible for setting the standard for VIA's social media presence and executing much of the strategy, while also leading agency partners and freelancers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of dedicated social media experience in a technology company, ideally in B2B tech, security, or defense tech.
  • Experience owning a social media program end to end.
  • Demonstrated track record of growing audiences and engagement across multiple platforms.
  • Hands-on experience planning and optimizing paid social campaigns.
  • Experience building executive and employee presence on social (e.g., ghostwriting for executives, ambassador programs).
  • Experience directing agencies, freelancers, or contractors, and leading campaigns across teams.
  • Fluency with social scheduling, listening, and analytics tools.
  • Ability to turn data into clear recommendations.
  • Sound judgment about what to share publicly, especially concerning customers, security, or sensitive information.
  • Ability to set standards and coach others, from early-career employees to executives.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach, comfortable rolling up sleeves to solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills and a clear point of view.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and senior leaders as well as external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own VIA’s social media strategy across priority channels (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, and YouTube) and identify new platforms for growth.
  • Define the goal, audience, voice, and visual guidelines for each channel.
  • Define key metrics, connect social performance to brand, marketing, and pipeline goals, and use data to refine strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for paid social campaigns, defining goals, target audience, placement, and budget.
  • Lead the social media content calendar in partnership with marketing, product, People and Operations, leadership, and PR agencies.
  • Build and own the review and approval process for social content, partnering with compliance, client delivery, and leadership as needed.
  • Own day-to-day scheduling and publishing across VIA's channels, creating content directly and directing designers, freelancers, and agency partners.
  • Own the two-way conversation on VIA’s channels, responding to comments, mentions, and messages.
  • Bring VIA into relevant online groups and forums where customers and competitors are active.
  • Lead integrated social campaigns around major moments and extend content beyond the feed.
  • Lead real-time social coverage of conferences, launches, and company events.
  • Own and grow the CEO’s social presence, aligning it with VIA’s brand and PR efforts.
  • Launch and grow an internal ambassador program to empower employees to amplify the VIA story.
  • Create employee guidelines for representing VIA on social media and host training sessions.
