Mercier Consultancy Group is seeking a Dutch Speaking Social Media Content Moderator to work on-site in Athens, Greece. This role involves reviewing, assessing, and moderating user-generated content on major social media platforms to ensure online communities are safe and respectful, aligning with community guidelines. Requirements

  • Native or fluent Dutch language proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Valid EU passport or documentation confirming the right to work within the European Union.
  • Understanding of and interest in social media platforms, online communities, digital culture, and internet trends within Dutch-speaking markets.
  • Strong critical thinking, sound judgement, and ability to make consistent, policy-aligned decisions under pressure.
  • High level of emotional resilience and professionalism.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse, multilingual team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in content moderation, trust and safety, customer support, or a related field within the social media or digital industry.

Responsibilities

  • Review and moderate user-generated content in Dutch, ensuring compliance with platform-specific community standards and content policies.
  • Identify, escalate, and action harmful, offensive, or policy-violating content (hate speech, misinformation, graphic material, spam) within response timeframes.
  • Classify and document content decisions using internal moderation tools and case management systems.
  • Communicate moderation decisions, appeals, or policy clarifications to Dutch-speaking users professionally and empathetically.
  • Monitor trends in harmful content within the Dutch-language social media space and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate with trust and safety specialists, policy teams, and quality analysts.
  • Participate in training sessions, calibration exercises, and policy update briefings.
  • Meet and exceed performance metrics including accuracy rates, productivity targets, and quality benchmarks.
