About The Position

The Social Media Assistant is responsible for supporting the Physician Outreach team with day-to-day social media activities and content execution. This role assists with content posting, basic content creation, on-site media support, and platform monitoring to help maintain consistent brand presence across social channels. The Social Media Assistant works under close guidance and does not independently set strategy or approve final content.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and audience engagement.
  • Knowledge of brand development and digital storytelling best practices.
  • Familiarity with photo and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative eye for photography, videography, and design.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Analytical skills to interpret social media metrics and trends.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when filming in healthcare settings.
  • Ability to think proactively and identify opportunities for increased brand visibility.
  • Ability to provide concise, high-level summaries and recommendations to management.
  • Ability to travel between facilities and attend events as needed.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Assist with posting and scheduling approved social media content across multiple platforms.
  • Support basic content creation efforts, including capturing photos and short videos during facility visits or events as directed.
  • Assist with editing photos and videos using provided templates, tools, and brand guidelines.
  • Monitor social media accounts for comments, messages, and tags and escalate items to leadership.
  • Help maintain content calendars by tracking post dates, themes, and assets.
  • Organize and label digital media files for easy access and future use.
  • Assist with gathering content ideas from facility staff and events.
  • Provide on-site support at events, staff activities, or facility visits to help capture content.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks related to social media, such as updating spreadsheets, tracking posts, or pulling basic engagement data.
  • Coordinating with internal departments and vendors to gather content for publishing.
  • Support other department projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
