About The Position

The person who learns what each resident loves, what they used to enjoy, what they wish they could still do — and then finds creative ways to bring that spark back. This role requires creativity — but also structure. Fun — but follow-through. Heart — and accountability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in therapeutic recreation
Minimum 1 year experience working with elders (home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing)
Demonstrated experience developing recreational programs
Must meet Registry of Motor Vehicles requirements to drive residents

Responsibilities

Design and execute a dynamic, well-organized recreational program every single week
Learn residents’ interests by observing, listening, and asking thoughtful questions
Increase participation by redesigning programs when interest dips
Plan outings (shopping, movies, museums, lunch, concerts) and safely drive our 15-passenger van
Build trust with residents and families through consistent, warm communication
Recruit, train, and support volunteers and activity assistants
Publish polished monthly calendars and newsletters (accuracy matters!)
Lead special events that bring joy, connection, and purpose
Contribute to occupancy growth by helping families feel confident recommending our community
