Snowflake Database Reliability Engineer-III

The job overview for the Snowflake Administrator-III role is to build an exceptional product experience by working with a team of engineers to address customer pain points. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale Snowflake systems, ensuring availability, reliability, performance, and security. The administrator will also be responsible for automating database provisioning, deployments, and maintenance, as well as syncing data between different data stores. Additionally, the role requires expertise in troubleshooting performance issues and optimizing query performance.

Build delightful feature experience to understand and solve customer's pain points

Snowflake design, model, implement and size large scale systems

Responsible for Provisioning, availability 24X7, reliability, performance, Security, maintenance, upgrades, and cost optimization

Capacity planning of large-scale database clusters

Automate DB provisioning, deployments, administration, maintenance and upgrades

Sync data between multiple data stores (eg: Redshift to ES and Snowflake to ES)

Design, document and benchmark the Snowflake DB

DB Maintenance, Backup, Health check, alerting and Monitoring

Create processes, best practices, and enforce

Identify and tune the long running queries to improve DB performance and to reduce the cost

Work in a fast-paced environment with the agility to change directions as per business needs

Hands-on experience with a start-up mentality in managing & troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems

Extensive hands-on experience on Snowflake and AWS Redshift Administration

Ability to guide and mentor team on Snowflake best practices

Account setup, configuring, warehouse creation and administering SF

Advanced knowledge of Snowflake data sharing, tasks creation, scheduling, warehouse sizing

Knowledge on SF design principles, micro partitioning and query optimization

Expert in troubleshooting Snowflake performance issues in production

Demonstrated experience with any cloud data warehouse, managing medium to large sized production

Experience in building proof of concepts, architecting new systems and improving existing systems
