About The Position
The Snowcat Operator Basic is responsible for the safe operation of a snowcat to create quality snow surfaces for skiing and riding to support day-to-day mountain operations and special events. This position reports to the Trails Director.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience operating heavy equipment including on uneven terrain and at night preferred
- Valid, current, unrestricted driver’s license required
- Ability to communicate, follow oral and written directions in English
- Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals
- Ability to remain focused, organized, flexible, and detail-oriented
- Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working
Nice To Haves
- Ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level preferred
Responsibilities
- Groom terrain for skiing and riding
- Responsible for consistent grooming, creating clean lines on the slopes and effectively cleaning up pattern discrepancies that result in crooked lines and/or turn marks
- Ability to maintain grooming standards including at night on uneven terrain and in adverse weather conditions
- Perform general maintenance of the snowcats and informs mechanics of any issues
- Must pass ASC and Colorado snowmobile test (as required)
- Other duties as assigned
