About The Position

The Snow Plow Operator is an on-call, part-time position that works rotating shifts during inclement weather. The operator performs snow-removal and de-icing operations on the I-66 express lanes, using snow-removal equipment to help provide motorists with safe and reliable travel. The role includes operating snowplows, brine trucks, and front-end loaders, as well as inspecting equipment and assisting with maintenance and repairs. The position may involve alternate part-time on-call hours, including weekends and night shifts, and may require regularly scheduled work outside standard hours. Operators work around heavy machinery and traffic, may encounter moderate to high noise levels, and must be able to work in any weather condition. Compensation is $50 per hour. The role is eligible for the company’s benefits package.

Requirements

Possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air-brakes endorsement.
Have 1–3+ years of experience in interstate snow removal.
Ability to interact with colleagues in a team structure.
Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
Good communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work alternate part-time on-call hours, including weekends and night shifts as needed.
May be required to work off hours on a regularly scheduled basis.
Ability to work in any weather condition.
Ability to stand, walk, climb, drive, and sit for long periods during day and night operations.

Responsibilities

Operate snowplows to remove snow and ice from interstate lanes and ramps.
Operate brine trucks to deploy de-icing and anti-icing materials.
Operate front-end loaders to load trucks as needed.
Inspect equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
Make minor equipment repairs or adjustments, lubricate equipment, and assist with repairs as required.
