About The Position

Responsible for all aspects of Small Groups and Pastoral Care at the “ “ campus - ensuring people are growing spiritually and building community through effective, healthy small groups and Ministry Teams. This includes the development and execution of an annual growth plan, leader identification and recruitment, and ongoing leadership and coaching of group leaders and Ministry Team members.

Requirements

  • Passion for Small Groups with evidence of life change/transformation in small group community
  • Participation in a Freedom small group and attendance at the Freedom Conference
  • Proven experience in Small Group ministry and leadership development - can effectively recruit, train, manage, and develop leaders
  • Proven ability to communicate well and articulate vision in large and small settings that motivates people to act - has a high emotional quotient and wins with people.
  • Relational skills that present harmony and genuine spiritual authority
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data and offer implementation strategies.
  • The proven strategic thought process in leading a ministry, dealing with ambiguity, identifying effective solutions, and envisioning the future state; problem solver with a strong bent towards growth - the ability to see beyond the current status quo and make things better.
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with a particular emphasis on follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to respond quickly and make independent decisions with a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Function as the overall leader of all small groups and pastoral care at the campus, providing pastoral leadership to all levels of leadership
  • Continually evaluate and ensure the ongoing effectiveness of current processes and procedures to respond quickly and connect people to the church and their appropriate next steps.
  • Be involved in other campus meetings and Central meetings as needed. ie. conferences, workshops, planning, budgets, etc. ensuring cross-communication among campus departments as it relates to Small Groups and Pastoral Care Building Teams
  • Resource and support Small Group and Ministry Team members by continually giving vision, direction, and leadership development.
  • Plan and execute regular ongoing training to personally care well for all layers of leadership and train leaders under them on how to care for the teams they lead.
  • Ensure all teams are healthy, have strong leadership, and are equipped to build up each member so that no one is missed.
  • Meet regularly with Small Group and Ministry Team members and lead strategies for consistently building, safeguarding, and re-enforcing the vision and culture of Small Groups.
  • Consistently and effectively identify and recruit new leaders, help them get connected, and teach others to do the same.
  • Evaluate and oversee the process for financial assistance Recommendations within and outside the current financial process by working closely with the Central Pastoral Care Pastor.
  • Work closely with the Campus Pastor and Central Pastoral Care Pastor in defining situationally specmc next steps and interventions for needs related to mental health, financial assistance, and general difficult/crisis-type issues related to pastoral care
  • Partner with the Campus Pastor and Pastoral Care Pastor on pastoral care issues and keep the team apprised of all related issues
  • Develop and maintain ongoing systems designed to recruit, train, and retain leaders ensuring a healthy small group growth rate over time.
  • Develop and implement a plan that ensures continuous improvement and growth of small group involvement semester over semester, year over year.
  • Work closely with the Campus Pastor and Central Small Group Team to ensure strategies/processes ensuring the Small Group vision and mission are healthy and maintained at campus.
  • Manage reports and promptly execute any follow-up for Connections, Small Groups, and Pastoral Care in Rock.
  • Oversee and assist with Small Group timeline tasks for the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters (decisions on groups and leaders, assigning coaches, collecting rosters/attendance, etc.)
  • Oversee Small Groups and Pastoral Care budgets and manage spending to budget.
  • Provide interpretation and utilization of data analytics for all Small Group and Ministry Team metrics.
  • Continually monitor Small Group Leader attrition and retention numbers and conversions to small group leaders.
  • Analyze data trends for campus and explore the proper response for those trends.
  • Assist with Water Baptism, as directed
  • Conduct hospital visitations, as needed
  • Assist with memorial services, as needed
  • Serve after-hours on-call, as scheduled
  • Attend Sunday services (30/30 rule: visible and mingling 30 minutes before services begin and 30 minutes after services end)
  • Assist at conferences/events, as needed
  • Set an example by attending Saturday morning prayer and all church events
  • Highlands College development, as needed and directed by oversight
  • Update Highlands Resources, as needed
