About The Position

The Slots Sr Gaming Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and setup of Electronic Gaming Devices (EGDs) in accordance with gaming regulations. This role involves hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and ensuring the integrity of gaming equipment. The technician will also assist management and floor personnel, maintain knowledge of gaming laws, and promote positive guest relations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year slot technical experience required.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess knowledge of moving mechanical parts, EGDs, electronics and electrical functions.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of test metering devices as well as use of all EGD test and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Instructs Gaming Technicians and Apprentice Gaming Technicians on the technical aspects of gaming device repair.

  • Electronics degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handles floor repair and proper preventative maintenance of all EGDs, including cleaning and overhauls, in accordance with gaming regulations.
  • Handles the initial setup and checkout of new EGDs.
  • Assists Management in the breakdown, relocation, and setup of EGDs and stands.
  • Assists Slot Floor people in verifying jackpots when the system is down (manual mode).
  • Assists in ensuring EGD integrity when jackpots occur and at other times requested by Operations management.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Brings disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the shift manager.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Performs immediate, periodic, and overhaul maintenance on EGDs, equipment, hardware, and peripheral attachments.
  • Identifies and isolates electronic faults at board level.
  • Assists floor personnel upon demand in guest service and disputes.
  • Performs maintenance and repair functions to electrical/electronic faults on EGDs up to the printed circuit board level.
  • Researches and diagnoses EGD malfunctions.
  • Performs repairs and preventative maintenance of gaming systems (progressive systems and accounting systems).
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
