About The Position

Lakeside Book Company is hiring a Slitter Operator to work in the bindery support area. The operator will run and oversee machinery used in production, inspect and troubleshoot equipment, monitor quality, throughput, and productivity, and process departmental paperwork. Training is provided, with opportunities to advance. The company values craftsmanship and collaboration and encourages employees to build their skills. Preference is given to candidates willing to participate in cross-training, qualify in the position, and serve as a backup for lateral and progressive roles as needed. The starting rate is $19.15 per hour. The schedule is a 12-hour day shift from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with rotating workdays listed as Mon–Tue, Fri–Sat–Sun, and Wed–Thu. Overtime is required as needed. The work is at the listed Lakeside Book Company locations in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand or sit for the entire duration of the shift.

Nice To Haves

Previous machine operating experience is preferred; preference is given to candidates with at least 1 year of experience operating machines.
Willingness to participate in cross-training, qualify in the position, and assume backup responsibilities for lateral and progressive roles as needed.
