Slitter Operator
About The Position
Lakeside Book Company is hiring a Slitter Operator for its bindery support area. The operator will operate and oversee production machinery, inspect and troubleshoot equipment, monitor quality, throughput, and productivity, and process departmental paperwork. Training is provided, and advancement opportunities are available. Previous machine-operating experience is preferred. Candidates are encouraged to participate in cross-training, qualify in the position, and provide backup support for lateral and progressive roles as needed. The listed starting rate is $19.15. The schedule is a 12-hour day shift from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with rotating workdays shown as Mon-Tue, Fri-Sat-Sun, and Wed-Thur; overtime is required as needed. The listed work locations are 2347 Kratzer Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22802, and 1025 Willow Springs Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit for the entire duration of the shift.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience operating machines is preferred.
- Willingness to participate in cross-training, achieve qualified status within the position, and provide backup to lateral and progressive roles as needed.
