About The Position

Sleep Consultants promote and sell mattresses displayed on the showroom floor and work directly with customers and employees across all departments. They respond to product questions, help customers select merchandise based on their needs and specifications, explain product features and care, and follow up on customer orders and inquiries. They also coordinate with customer service, warehouse operations, and other departments to resolve merchandise issues and ensure customer needs are met. The role includes preparing sales tickets, operating a cashier till, auditing the safe, making bank deposits, and loading and unloading transfers and pickups. Other duties may be assigned by management. The position is in an indoor, climate-controlled environment. Mathis Home maintains a drug-free workplace and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Positive attitude when working with customers.
Ability to assist with loading mattresses and lift up to 50 pounds.
Advanced computer skills.
Knowledge of employment and merchandise-handling procedures.
Ability to perform the stated physical activities, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening, and repetitive motion.

Responsibilities

Promote and sell mattresses displayed on the showroom floor.
Work directly with customers and employees across all departments.
Follow up on customer orders and inquiries.
Assist with merchandise-related problems in conjunction with customer service and warehouse operations.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer needs are met.
Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses.
Emphasize product features based on analysis of customer needs.
Prepare sales tickets for orders obtained.
Assist customers in selecting products based on their specifications.
Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
Describe merchandise and explain its use, operation, and care to customers.
Use methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and provide excellent customer relations.
Run the cashier till.
Audit the safe.
Make bank deposits.
Load and unload transfers and pickups.
Perform other duties as directed by management.
