About The Position

The Gift Stocker performs general warehouse and merchandise-display duties. The role includes receiving and moving merchandise, labeling items for their destination with a scan gun, arranging merchandise on the floor, and maintaining displays and signage to reflect inventory or promotions. The employee may assist other warehouse departments as needed, complete closing assignments, and perform other duties as directed by management. The position requires effective communication, positive customer relations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. It involves frequent lifting of merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds and occasional exposure to hot or cold temperatures and wet or humid conditions.

Requirements

Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Positive attitude when working with customers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of employment, merchandise-handling, and safety procedures.
Ability to perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening, and repetitive motion.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and constantly move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks.
Label merchandise with its destination using a scan gun.
Move merchandise to the floor using carts and move merchandise between bays as instructed.
Arrange displayed merchandise to present it as well as possible.
Change or rotate displays and signage to reflect inventory or promotional changes.
Follow proper procedures when using knives and flat carts and when lifting merchandise.
Assist other warehouse departments as needed.
Check daily closing assignments and responsibilities.
Provide excellent customer relations to internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as directed by management.
