About The Position

This pre-apprenticeship training program, known as Jumpstart, is designed to prepare individuals for careers in the Skilled Trades, specifically in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or Carpentry. The program provides an overview of all trades, guidance on obtaining licenses and certifications, and information on national wage scales. Participants will gain hands-on experience with measurements, work ethics, safe use of hand and power tools, and construction materials, with a strong emphasis on workplace safety. Upon successful completion, participants become eligible for interviews with participating contractors and can then enroll in an Apprenticeship Training Program to pursue their State License.

Requirements

• Age 18 - 24
• High school diploma or GED
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check
• Valid driver's license & clean driving record
• Aptitude Assessment REQUIRED for acceptance into training
• Seeking full-time employment

Responsibilities

• Provide an overview of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Carpentry trades.
• Educate on career paths to obtaining licenses and/or certifications.
• Inform about national wage scales in each trade.
• Teach taking measurements.
• Instill work ethics.
• Train on safe use of hand and power tools.
• Familiarize with materials used on construction job sites.
• Emphasize safety in the workplace.
