Ski Patrol Training Coordinator - Winter 26/27

Grand America Hotels & Resorts•Huntsville, UT

About The Position

The Ski Patrol Training Coordinator establishes and manages a consistent training program to prepare Ski Patrollers to manage mountain hazards and provide high-quality guest service and care. The role develops specialized knowledge and practical skills while establishing a consistent baseline of proficiency across the department. The coordinator reports to the Ski Patrol Director and works closely with Team Leads, Hill Captains, Snow Safety, and qualified instructors. The position must remain sufficiently separate from daily Ski Patrol operations to allow effective training-program planning, delivery, and evaluation. When operational coverage is needed, the coordinator may serve as a Hill Captain or rotation patroller, provided those duties do not interfere with training responsibilities. Training areas include new-hire training; guest service; mountain geography and terrain knowledge; trail maintenance and hazard marking; first aid and scene management; toboggan handling; incident investigation; annual refreshers; dispatch; snowmobile operations; lift evacuation; avalanche mitigation and rescue; in- and out-of-bounds search and rescue; and other training as required. The role works indoors and outdoors in variable weather, snow, and mountain conditions. It requires appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to Ski Patrol safety practices and resort policies.
