About The Position

The City of Mission’s Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking a new seasonal skate patrol to work from September 2026 until March 2027. A typical seasonal skate patrol employee works yearly from September to March. As a skate patrol, you will be responsible for supervision of public activities to ensure safety practices are followed during public skating times at the municipal arena. You will assist skaters when needed, treat minor injuries and perform limited janitorial duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Completed Grade 10.
  • Standard First Aid Level 1 certification or a recognized equivalent.
  • Ability to skate well and for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to be calm, courteous, and tactful in a variety of demanding situations.
  • Ability to enforce safety rules to ensure safe conditions for public skaters.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise public activities to ensure safety practices are followed during public skating times at the municipal arena.
  • Assist skaters when needed.
  • Treat minor injuries.
  • Perform limited janitorial duties.
