About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to operate heavy equipment and lead a small crew in completing earthwork projects. The work includes grading, excavating, loading, hauling, trenching, driving metal posts, and moving dirt. The position involves working in varied environments and conditions and performing manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience.
• Ability to efficiently operate mini excavators and bobcats.
• Experience operating full-sized excavators, loaders, and dozers.
• Ability to communicate directly with clients and manage crew members.
• Reliable transportation.
• Current and valid driver's license.
• Physical fitness to perform manual labor in varied environments and conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit and stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; communicate verbally and listen; walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, mini excavators, and bobcats while managing a small crew on a daily basis.
• Install erosion control measures, including silt fence and super silt fence.
• Excavate for and build bioretention facilities, rain gardens, ponds, sediment basins, and other stormwater management facilities or BMPs.
• Muck out and re-grade ponds.
• Shoot grades for stakeout and read and interpret cut sheets.
• Fine grade.
• Install underdrain on roadway projects.
• Complete other grading and excavation work as requested by clients.
