About The Position

Site Supervisors are needed at the Anniston Army Depot in Anniston, AL to oversee daily maintenance and production operations and personnel. The goal is to ensure the facility remains mission-ready and compliant with strict Department of Defense (DoD) regulations. This role involves full responsibility for the annual execution plan for maintenance/production on assigned weapons/support systems, including repair, rebuild, fabrication, modification, and conversion of major and secondary items associated with complex ground weapon systems. The supervisor will plan and organize maintenance tasks, develop operating procedures, oversee program development related to programming and budgeting, coordinate maintenance and logistics activities, and manage production control and supply operations. They will also review programs for adequacy, identify deviations, negotiate corrective actions, determine program priorities, and perform long-range planning. Performance monitoring includes direct labor hour execution, productive yield, leave management, budget compliance, and man-hour control. The role involves establishing liaison with other installations and industries to improve production and logistics efficiency, ensuring operations are efficient through various metrics, and maintaining an internal control system for government resources. The supervisor is responsible for production equipment maintenance and replacement, being present on-site during standard day shifts, serving as the interface with on-site officials and the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO), adjusting employee schedules, submitting staffing plans, identifying employee work locations, and overseeing employee performance. Progress will be appraised by reviewing reports against schedules and budgets, comparing costs to accomplishments, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Leadership is expected in analyzing maintenance program results and executing initiatives to improve quality, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and competitiveness. The supervisor ensures completed items reliably perform their functions for users. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) years of management experience in Army maintenance/production and logistics operations.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with financial management and knowledge of Army Depot Information Systems.
  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ documented management experience managing 50+ personnel both directly and indirectly with or in support of the US military.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude, knowledge of military maintenance systems.
  • Individual shall have written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this management role.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government Representative, and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.
  • US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and accomplish the annual execution plan for maintenance/production on assigned weapons/support systems.
  • Plan and organize the operation of assigned maintenance/production tasks.
  • Develop and recommend proposals for policies related to operating procedures and facilities.
  • Oversee the development of assigned operational programs related to programming and budgeting activities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of programs for major areas of maintenance and logistics activities and related production control and supply operations.
  • Oversee the execution of operation and budgeting programs.
  • Review programs to assure adequacy and accuracy; coordinate necessary adjustments and corrections.
  • Identify actual or potential deviations from established policy or objectives and negotiate corrective action.
  • Determine what programs or major projects should be initiated, continued, or curtailed; timetables for programs and major projects; and the need for changes in emphasis in programs or parts of programs.
  • Accomplish long-range planning required in anticipation of changes in functions and programs.
  • Monitor mission performance by such measures as direct labor hour execution, productive yield, leave management, budget compliance, and control of man-hours.
  • Evaluate all available information and make program adjustment recommendations on expenditure of funds pertaining to all mission areas.
  • Compare program costs and accomplishments to identify potential improvements in funds, manpower, material, and equipment programming.
  • Establish and maintain liaison between RRAD and the maintenance directorates at other installations, agencies, and industries on matters pertaining to operating programs, especially regarding improving the efficiency and effectiveness of production and Logistics techniques, methods, operations, and processes.
  • Assure operations are performed as efficiently as possible through the use and monitoring of multiple metrics to monitor schedule conformance, program cost conformance, inventory accuracy, inventory excess, materiel returns, etc.
  • Ensure that government resources are efficiently and effectively managed through the internal control system.
  • Manage the associated production equipment, which must be repaired, maintained, and replaced, when necessary, without interfering with production schedules.
  • Be present at the site during assigned standard day shift employees' work hours and serve as the interface with on-site officials, as well as serving as a point of contact for the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO).
  • Adjust employees’ schedules as necessary to meet changes in workload and submit a revised staffing plan within 48 hours of notice.
  • Identify where on site each employee is working (which building or area).
  • Oversee the performance of work provided by employees assigned to support the contract.
  • Appraise the progress of work programs by reviewing reports against established schedules and work budgets.
  • Compare costs against accomplishments.
  • Review administration of the maintenance programs to ensure compliance with the intent of policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Exercise leadership in analysis of maintenance program results and executing major initiatives to improve quality, productivity, cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
  • Assure that completed items perform their designated functions reliably for their users.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the four Army Depots management and technical team.
  • Monitor/provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, coaching, and disciplinary action.
  • Ensure flow of communication from upper management to employees and vice versa.
