About The Position

This role is responsible for the reliability, availability, and performance of critical healthcare IT systems, principally in the Environment of Care (EOC), enabling access to essential services for patients and providers. It proactively identifies and mitigates disruptions and combines software engineering, clinical engineering, and security principles with healthcare operations to minimize downtime, improve resilience, and support clinical workflows and hospital continuity. The role works cross-functionally with AHN site leaders and teams across building automation and facility systems, clinical engineering and IoT, healthcare delivery technology architecture, infrastructure and platform operations, and cybersecurity. It promotes automation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and patient safety, and develops reporting systems to monitor system-health metrics such as latency, traffic, errors, and saturation. The role manages and monitors clinical devices and other technology equipment; supports device security, network segmentation, vulnerability remediation, observability, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, and infrastructure documentation. It contributes to disaster recovery, downtime drills, incident reviews, redundancy and failover, emergency planning, migrations, releases, and upgrades. It also works with facilities leaders to monitor and improve building automation systems, including HVAC, lighting, fire suppression, and security systems. The position maintains system and device documentation, shares knowledge, and keeps current with site reliability engineering technologies and practices.
