About The Position

Nordhealth is a remote-first provider of cloud-based practice management software for veterinary and therapy professionals, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. Its employees work remotely or from offices and collaboration hubs. Nordhealth Therapy is consolidating three regional practice-management products onto one unified platform for physiotherapists, psychologists, and rehabilitation clinics.

As a Site Reliability Engineer on the Platform Engineering team, you will help keep the platform reliable, secure, and easy to deploy across cloud and hybrid environments. You will work closely with software engineering and product teams in a hands-on role spanning infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, observability, incident response, and security. The role participates in the team's 24/7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience running production systems for a SaaS product in an SRE, platform, or DevOps role.
• Strong Linux and networking fundamentals, including DNS, TLS, HTTP, and load balancing.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform or similar, on a major cloud provider.
• Experience with containers and orchestration, such as Docker plus Kubernetes, ECS, or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Experience with observability tooling, such as Prometheus and Grafana, Datadog, or similar, and SLO-based alerting.
• Practical on-call experience handling incidents, writing postmortems, and following through on fixes.
• Comfort coding in Go, Python, or Bash, and ability to navigate application code.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work well remotely and asynchronously.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments, including networking, infrastructure as code, containers, and cost management.
• Improve deployment pipelines and automation, including feature flags and progressive delivery, to enable faster builds, safer deployments, and quick rollbacks.
• Apply monitoring standards across logs, metrics, and traces so issues are identified proactively.
• Define SLOs for key user journeys and configure alerting that pages for urgent risks while avoiding unnecessary alerts.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call and incident response, and improve processes through runbooks, blameless postmortems, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain platform security through vulnerability management, patching, and framework and dependency upgrades.
• Manage secrets and access using least privilege.
• Build compliance into the platform through audit logging, data residency, and access controls.
• Test backups and restores regularly and keep recovery procedures documented and rehearsed.
• Identify repetitive manual work and automate it.
• Improve developer experience through internal tooling, self-service workflows, and paved paths that help engineers ship faster and safely.
• Help migrate regional products to the unified platform without disrupting clinics.
