About The Position

Apple Services Engineering designs and maintains the systems, platforms, and infrastructure supporting Apple’s global services. The Data Platform Site Reliability Engineering team manages infrastructure and applications on bare-metal and cloud computing platforms to provide data processing, governance, and storage for Apple products and organizations. The platform handles large-scale data analytics and supports features in Apple Music, TV, Maps, News, and other products. The role focuses on helping ensure geographically distributed data centers and services work together reliably, with high availability and consistent performance.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in SRE, software development, or production operations in a large-scale environment.
• Proficiency authoring and releasing code in Go, Python, or Java using common configuration-management and software-delivery platforms.
• Experience operating production applications, including performance testing, high-availability and disaster-recovery concepts, capacity planning, and managing distributed systems on internal and public cloud infrastructure, principally Kubernetes.
• Understanding of Linux, containers, virtualization, standard networking protocols, and components.
• Strong ownership and integrity, demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills using the scientific method.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with the architecture, deployment, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of open-source data analytics or governance technologies such as Flink, Hive, Hadoop/HDFS, Trino, or Druid.
• Proficiency managing applications and infrastructure on AWS, GCP, and Ali Cloud.
• A strong drive to reduce toil by automating manual operations and evolving them into automatic processes.
