About The Position

The Site Logistics Manager works onsite at Abbott Park, Illinois, within Abbott’s Global Engineering Services division. The role oversees warehouse operations, inventory management, material distribution, site logistics, alarm monitoring, maintenance service coordination, and mover and rigger support services across Abbott Park. It is accountable for receipt, storage, movement, inventory control, and distribution of materials, equipment, Maintenance, Operations and Repair (MOR) inventory, and operational supplies supporting manufacturing, engineering, facilities, and business operations.

The manager leads efforts to improve inventory accuracy, stock availability, material flow, service levels, space utilization, and operational efficiency. The role also oversees alarm monitoring and work order processes supporting manufacturing and facilities, and directs mover and rigger activities for relocations, equipment moves, capital projects, and special events while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The position manages staff and operational scheduling, and supports financial objectives through budgeting, analysis, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Experience managing warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling systems, and internal distribution networks.
• Experience developing and managing MOR inventory programs, inventory optimization initiatives, and warehouse capacity planning.
• Experience managing service dispatch, maintenance coordination, CMMS processes, work order management, or facilities operations.
• Experience overseeing alarm monitoring operations, critical utility monitoring, building automation systems, or manufacturing support functions.
• Experience managing mover and rigger operations, contractor services, equipment relocations, and site logistics projects.
• Demonstrated success leading Lean, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and logistics environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or an equivalent degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage warehouse inventory flow to support efficiency, quality system compliance, inventory accuracy, and timely delivery to customers throughout Abbott Park.
• Oversee receiving, storage, shipping, inventory control, material handling, staging, distribution, and asset accountability.
• Manage MOR inventory, including stock availability, replenishment strategies, inventory optimization, accuracy, cycle-count compliance, and obsolescence reduction.
• Develop inventory strategies that balance service levels, operational needs, inventory investment, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead warehouse optimization, including space utilization, storage capacity, layout redesign, process standardization, and material-flow improvements.
• Ensure timely distribution of inventory, spare parts, materials, supplies, and equipment across Abbott Park.
• Direct Alarm Monitoring and Work Order Clerk operations monitoring manufacturing, utility, facility, environmental, temperature, pressure, and equipment alarms.
• Oversee maintenance service request intake, work order processing, dispatch coordination, prioritization, customer communications, and service request tracking.
• Plan staffing and schedules for warehouse, inventory, logistics, alarm monitoring, work order, mover, rigger, and contract personnel.
• Lead mover and rigger teams supporting office relocations, equipment installations, laboratory moves, manufacturing equipment relocations, facility projects, and special events.
• Achieve financial objectives through budgeting, analysis, and corrective actions.
• Hire, develop, and retain a diverse and qualified staff while maintaining a safe operation.
