About The Position

Careys is seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join its team on a major infrastructure scheme at Universal Studios Resort in Bedford. The role offers an opportunity to develop skills while supporting the delivery of complex works. The Site Engineer will carry out setting out and dimensional control, help ensure works meet drawings and specifications, support subcontractor supervision and short-term planning, and maintain project records and compliance standards.

Requirements

HNC/HND or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience working on reinforced concrete (RC) frame or civil engineering projects.
Competence in setting out and interpreting technical drawings.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and QA processes.
Proficiency with digital tools, including AutoCAD, surveying equipment, and MS Office.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Proactive and organised, with an interest in developing within a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

Carry out setting out and dimensional control using modern survey equipment.
Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
Review construction information, raise RFIs, and support buildability improvements.
Supervise subcontractors and site operatives to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
Maintain accurate records, including as-builts, QA documentation, and ITPs.
Monitor progress against the programme and support short-term planning.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
