Simulation Engineer

TFT Global•Lansing, MI

About The Position

We are seeking a motivated, technically capable Simulation Engineer to help build and lead capabilities in digital twin technology, material-flow simulation, and logistics optimization. This new role sits at the intersection of engineering, automation, logistics, commercial strategy, and operational execution. The Simulation Engineer will use simulation and automation software to model operating environments, evaluate alternatives, identify constraints, and determine effective ways to move material through warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and interconnected logistics systems. The work will inform solution design, customer quotations, new-business planning, improvements to existing operations, and strategic initiatives. The role involves working directly with stakeholders and decision-makers to translate complex engineering problems into practical, data-driven recommendations. The organization is developing its capabilities in an evolving technology space, so the successful candidate will help establish methods, standards, and tools. A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered depending on experience, location, and business needs. Periodic travel to facilities and customer sites across the United States and Canada is required. Candidates must be able to work legally in the US or Canada without sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Self-starter who is comfortable building a new capability and working with ambiguity.
  • Curiosity about how systems work and comfort challenging assumptions.
  • Motivation to solve practical business problems and connect technical detail to the bigger picture.
  • Ability to use simulation to support better decision-making.
  • Willingness to visit facilities, understand processes, gather information, build models, test alternatives, and explain results.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with commercial, engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Comfort working with site personnel and cross-functional teams across different locations.
  • Must currently be legally able to work in the US or Canada without sponsorship.
  • Must be comfortable with periodic travel to facilities and customer sites across the United States and Canada.
