About The Position

The Silk Screener position is responsible for printing lettering and designs with a screen printing device on products both manually and using an automated silk press. This role involves setting up the machine to ensure proper location on the part being screened and placing the proper ink into the screen frame. When hand screening, the individual draws a squeegee across the screen to transfer the design to the object. The position requires remaining alert for in-process product imperfections and bringing them to the supervisor's attention. Cleaning screens as required during and at the end of production runs, or when changing colors, is also a key responsibility. The Silk Screener must record processed quantities, compare them to the work order, and report any discrepancies to the supervisor or lead person. Moving completed work to the proper staging areas and exercising safety procedures to prevent injury and equipment damage are also essential duties. Daily safety operation procedures must be read and checked off before starting the machine. All other duties as assigned will also be performed.
