About The Position

The Undergraduate Student Worker (Federal Work-Study) provides operational and administrative support to the Simulation and Integrated Learning Center. This role assists faculty, staff, and students by preparing simulation laboratories, maintaining equipment and supplies, supporting simulation activities, and ensuring learning spaces are organized and ready for instruction. The student worker also performs clerical duties, assists with technology setup, and contributes to a safe, professional, and collaborative learning environment while gaining valuable experience in healthcare education and simulation operations. Requirements

  • MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
  • Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
  • Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
  • Must be eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.
  • Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student with a major in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and email).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform light physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, and moving simulation equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up simulation laboratories, equipment, supplies, and instructional materials for scheduled simulation and skills learning activities.
  • Assist faculty and staff with simulation sessions by ensuring equipment, manikins, and technology are operational and ready for use.
  • Clean, disinfect, and return simulation equipment, manikins, and supplies to designated storage areas following each activity and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor inventory of simulation supplies and equipment; restock consumable items and notify the SILC staff of equipment maintenance, repair, or replenishment needs.
  • Assist with resetting simulation rooms, skills labs, and learning spaces between activities to ensure readiness for subsequent classes.
  • Support the organization and maintenance of the Simulation and Integrated Learning Center by keeping workspaces, storage areas, and equipment clean, orderly, and secure.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including copying, scanning, filing, organizing instructional materials, and maintaining simulation-related documents and records.
  • Assist with basic technology setup and troubleshooting for simulation activities under the direction of faculty or staff.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors using the Simulation and Integrated Learning Center.
  • Follow institutional policies, safety guidelines, confidentiality requirements, and infection prevention procedures while performing assigned duties.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the daily operations of the Simulation and Integrated Learning Center.
