About The Position

This position will assist in the Music Computer Lab as a Computer Lab Assistant. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Requirements

  • MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY
  • Must be Federal Work Study Eligible
  • Must Include a Resume and Cover Letter
  • Familiarity with Google Docs/Sheets
  • Ability to set and maintain a regular weekly routine of checking and watering pianos
  • Physical ability to move chairs/music stands/amplifiers
  • Willing to work collaboratively with other student employees and Music Department Supervisors

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the Music Computer lab
  • Maintaining a library-type atmosphere
  • Check students in/out of facility
  • Keep track of lab materials being used
  • Assist students in finding materials
  • Assist Music Department Assistant and Music Admission Coordinator as necessary
  • Work in tandem with Music Department Faculty, the Vocal Ensembles Assistant, and the Instrumental Ensembles Assistant to aid in the setting up and tearing down of materials for Music Department concerts and events
  • Checking and watering pianos
  • Organize physical sheet music in coordination with entries in the digital instrumental library
