Signal and Power Integrity Engineer

NVIDIA•Austin, TX
•$116,000 - $218,500

About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking a Signal and Power Integrity Engineer to develop signal integrity solutions for complex system design problems. The role involves modeling and optimizing system components, performing system-level simulations of high-speed interfaces, and improving signal-integrity models using lab measurements and modeling updates. The engineer will create and review substrate and board-layout signal-integrity guidelines, perform post-layout extractions, and automate simulation data gathering, analysis, and visualization. This is a cross-functional role focused on optimizing packages, PCBs, ASICs, and mixed-signal circuits. The position is part of NVIDIA, a technology company focused on computing, GPUs, and AI. The expected base salary is $116,000–$189,750 for Level 2 or $136,000–$218,500 for Level 3, depending on location, experience, and other objective job-related factors. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits. Applications will be accepted at least until November 3, 2026. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Requirements

  • Master’s and/or Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of work experience.
  • Familiarity with signal- and power-integrity concepts, design, and analysis.
  • Exposure to channel signal-integrity time-domain simulations.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D modeling tools such as ANSYS HFSS/Q3D, 2.5D tools such as ANSYS SIwave or similar, and 2D tools such as Ansys2D.
  • Familiarity with VNA, TDR, DSO, and ParBERT instruments, and tools or applications such as ADS, Ansys Designer, JMP, MATLAB, and Cadence Allegro.
  • Scripting skills for data post-processing, tool development, and/or process automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong technical background in applied electromagnetics, waveguides, transmission-line theory, and signal processing.
  • Exposure to board and package technology and design.
  • Understanding of circuit equalization techniques.
  • Exposure to power-delivery-network evaluation using layout-extraction tools for packages and PCBs, and SPICE-based time-domain simulations.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, especially Python.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative signal-integrity solutions to complex system design problems.
  • Model and optimize vias, connectors, sockets, breakouts, and other system components using 3D electromagnetic tools.
  • Perform system-level signal-integrity simulations for high-speed interfaces, including NVLink 200 Gbps+, USB-4, PCIe 5, GDDR6, and LP5X.
  • Improve signal-integrity models using lab-measurement data and updates to modeling tools or methodologies.
  • Create and review substrate and board-layout signal-integrity guidelines, and perform post-layout signal-integrity extractions.
  • Automate simulations and perform data gathering, analysis, and visualization using JMP, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Work cross-functionally to optimize packages, PCBs, ASICs, and mixed-signal circuits.
