About The Position

Waste Connections of Amarillo is seeking a safety-conscious CDL route driver in Amarillo, Texas. The driver operates a residential CDL truck to deliver dumpster containers and provide customer service. The work takes place year-round in varied outdoor conditions and environments, including residential, construction, and commercial settings. The role involves strenuous physical activity and working around heavy diesel equipment, with exposure to weather, noise, fumes, vibration, and moving mechanical parts. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting around 5:30 a.m., for approximately 48–52 hours per week, with overtime. Compensation is $23 or more per hour plus overtime. Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a satisfactory driving record.
Must hold a Class A or Class B CDL.
Must be able to work Monday through Friday, starting around 5:30 a.m., for approximately 48–52 hours per week, with overtime.
Must be physically comfortable with the demands of the job, including strenuous physical work, consistent walking, and lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a commercial CDL truck in residential, construction, commercial, and other environments.
Select a convenient dumpster drop-off location while avoiding property damage.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load dumpsters on and off the truck.
Secure and appropriately cover dumpster loads, accounting for weight shifts before departing.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
