About The Position

We are seeking shuttle drivers to work in the Springfield/Amherst area. These are steady, local routes. We operate late model 14-passenger vehicles which do not require a CDL. Non-CDL drivers earn $19/hour to start. Applicants who already have a CDL (w/ P endorsement) earn $21/hour to start. VPA offers weekly payroll. Currently, we are seeking drivers who can work full or part-time hours. Shifts open include Monday-Friday 7 am-11 am and 2 pm-6 pm. We will consider applicants who can work all of these hours or as few as 3 shifts per week. Other shifts are also available to create an FT role if desired. CDL drivers are also needed for other shifts.

Requirements

Valid class D (Non-CDL) license in good standing
Must be at least 20 years old
Valid DOT Medical card required
Background checks and driving tests will be conducted

Nice To Haves

CDL with P endorsement
Professional driving experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
Opening and closing doors for patrons
Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
Recording passenger counts and trip times
Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
