Shuttle Driver - Senior Living
About The Position
Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Shuttle Driver to provide transportation for community residents. The role assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing activities requiring van transportation. The driver also provides shuttle service for employees traveling to and from the Stamford Train Station. The position includes maintaining vehicles in safe working order, transporting residents to medical appointments and community outings, and monitoring residents to help ensure their safety. During excursions, the driver acts as an Activity Assistant and stays with the group except when parking the van.
Requirements
- Driver’s license with an F endorsement or higher, such as a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated interest in working with older adults and knowledge of their service needs.
- Demonstrated activities or recreational experience.
- Excellent communication skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicles in accordance with warranty requirements and/or the internal maintenance plan to ensure they are safe and in working order.
- Act as an Activity Assistant during excursions and stay with the group except when parking the van.
- Transport residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and shopping trips.
- Monitor resident activity and alert staff when assistance is necessary to assure resident safety.
- Drive the employee shuttle to and from the Stamford Train Station.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing activities requiring van transportation.
