About The Position

The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting hotel and airport passengers to and from the hotel. This role involves greeting passengers, assisting with baggage, operating the vehicle safely, communicating with dispatchers, and conducting pre/post-trip inspections. The driver will also monitor traffic and weather conditions and report any issues or accidents.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License for 3 Consecutive Years.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical exam.
  • Ability to operate a passenger van safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment depending upon customer volume, shift, season, etc.
  • Possess positive and professional attitude with strong communication skills and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving shuttle bus or commercial vehicles preferred.
  • Customer service: 1 year+

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive shuttle bus passengers to and from the hotel.
  • Cheerfully greet passengers and provide assistance with baggage loading and unloading.
  • Operate the vehicle in a safe manner and record any issues with the vehicle on the appropriate forms.
  • Communicate with dispatchers, drivers and other employees using a two-way radio system to communicate routes, announcing arrivals and delays, coordinating the pick-up of customers, or handling other vehicle or customer issues that arise.
  • Conducts pre/post trip inspections of the shuttle buses at the beginning and end of shift to ensure sound operating conditions. Add any necessary fluids that may be needed oil, transmission, washer fluid, power steering fluid and coolant. Check the tire pressure and tread depth. All items that are on the Pre and Post trip inspection sheet.
  • Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies dispatch or supervisor of potential problems.
  • Reports accidents or other safety situations to dispatch or supervisor.
  • Treats all customers in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
