About The Position

Ben E. Keith Company is hiring a Class A CDL Shuttle Driver to transport loaded trailers from the branch to designated shuttle locations and return empty trailers to the branch for reloading. The role involves safely operating commercial vehicles, meeting scheduled pickup and delivery times, and following DOT requirements and company safety policies. The position offers stable, full-time employment, predictable routes, and the opportunity to build trailer-handling and transportation experience with a supportive team and established company. Drivers conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, promptly report issues or safety concerns to management, and represent Ben E. Keith professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers. The fleet uses AI-enabled dash-camera technology to recognize safe driving behaviors and provide footage during accident investigations; drivers receive information about the program and sign a consent form during hiring. The role requires frequent climbing in and out of tractors and trailers, repetitive lifting and moving of items up to 50 pounds, and working in varying weather conditions. Drivers must be able to read route information, product descriptions, and safety documentation, and use their hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and feet normally to perform job duties.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL with Double/Triple endorsements.
DOT qualified and able to meet all DOT requirements.
Good driving record, with no more than one moving violation within the past three years.
Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements.
Ability to safely operate tractors with 28', 36', and 48' trailers.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
Ability to climb in and out of tractors and trailers frequently.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Ability to read route information, product descriptions, and safety documentation.
Normal use of hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and feet to safely perform job duties.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of commercial driving experience preferred.
High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

Transport loaded trailers from the branch to designated shuttle locations.
