About The Position

Ben E. Keith Company is hiring a full-time Shuttle Driver to transport loaded trailers from a branch to designated shuttle locations and return empty trailers to the branch. The role involves safely operating Class A commercial vehicles, adhering to DOT and company regulations, meeting scheduled pickup and delivery times, inspecting vehicles, and promptly communicating issues or safety concerns. Drivers represent the company professionally and follow its safety policies. The position offers predictable routes and regular time at home, with opportunities to build transportation experience and advance within transportation and distribution operations. Drivers use tractors with 28-foot, 36-foot, and 48-foot trailers. The company uses AI-enabled dash camera technology to recognize safe driving behavior and support accident investigations; drivers receive information about the program and sign a consent form during hiring.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with at least one year of experience.
• Double/Triple endorsements and at least one year of experience.
• DOT qualified and able to meet all DOT requirements.
• Good driving record, with no more than one moving violation within the past three years.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements.
• Ability to safely operate tractors with 28-foot, 36-foot, and 48-foot trailers.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to frequently climb in and out of tractors and trailers.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to read route information, product descriptions, and safety documentation.
• Normal use of hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and feet to safely perform job duties.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of commercial driving experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsibilities

• Transport loaded trailers from the branch to designated shuttle locations.
• Return empty trailers to the branch for reloading.
• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with DOT and company regulations.
• Maintain scheduled delivery and pickup times.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Immediately communicate issues, delays, or safety concerns to management.
• Represent Ben E. Keith professionally with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
