About The Position

UPMC is hiring a full-time Shuttle Bus Driver to support the UPMC Harrisburg area. The position operates shuttle buses and vans on assigned routes, maintains ridership documentation, performs vehicle safety and routine maintenance checks, and cleans vehicles. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with weekends off.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one year of previous driving experience in lieu of a diploma or GED.
Deep understanding of transportation regulations and governmental policies related to transporting people.
Strong customer service background.
Ability to manage change in a busy environment.
Good driving record.
Pennsylvania state driver’s license.
FMCSA Clearinghouse Drug and Alcohol Registration.
Act 34 clearance.
DOT medical card clearance, with renewal.

Responsibilities

Operate shuttle buses and vans on assigned routes.
Maintain ridership information and report it according to company processes.
Follow route standards and deviate from designated routes only with permission from management or law enforcement.
Maintain cleanliness standards in buses and UPMC facilities.
Fuel vehicles according to company policy.
Understand and monitor Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.
Comply with regulations and guidelines established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), including driver’s license, medical card, and motor vehicle record requirements.
Develop and foster strong working relationships with riders and coworkers.
Provide a high level of customer service to passengers.
Demonstrate safe working and driving practices.
Comply with UPMC Employee Transit policies and procedures.
Complete annual violation and records reviews and annual training.
