About The Position

Baystate Health is seeking a Shuttle Bus Driver to join the Transportation team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Transportation team provides safe, reliable transportation for patients, visitors, and team members, supporting the medical center’s daily operations and special events. The role helps passengers reach their destinations safely and comfortably while providing excellent customer service and supporting the Baystate Health community.

The Shuttle Bus Driver operates vehicles ranging from minivans to 52-passenger buses for shuttle and special-event transportation. This is a full-time evening position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with no weekend requirement.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Excellent driving record.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• GED or HiSET.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) air brake endorsement for the State of Massachusetts.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience operating vehicles requiring a CDL.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles ranging from minivans to 52-passenger buses safely and responsibly to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Maintain knowledge of assigned routes and alternative routes.
• Follow applicable traffic laws and roadway safety regulations.
• Complete daily trip logs, vehicle inspection reports, and passenger reports.
• Complete vehicle accident and incident reports when appropriate.
• Immediately report vehicle maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Demonstrate Baystate Health’s organizational values and provide excellent customer service in accordance with Baystate Best Training.
