It is expanding its team in Moreno Valley, California, and is seeking a motivated Shunter/Yard Hostler for an immediate-start, full-time, long-term opportunity. The role involves moving company trailers within a defined yard area using a shunt truck, coordinating with shipping personnel, and following established safety and defensive-driving procedures. Trailer washing and tire repair, including minimal repairs, are also part of the role. The work is physically demanding and may require staying beyond usual shift hours depending on operational needs and shipment volume.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience.
- A good driving record.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Ability to stay longer than usual shift hours depending on operational needs and package shipment volume.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Move and shift company trailers within a defined area.
- Operate a shunt truck to move trailers within the yard.
- Follow company-established safety rules and procedures.
- Follow company-established safe and defensive driving methods.
- Communicate with shipping personnel to ensure efficient movement of trailers.
- Report issues or damage to trailers.
- Wash trailers and perform tire repair, including minimal repairs.
